research levels in bioshock?

dont want to go into the official thread (spoilers and all), but is there a way of telling how much research is done for each enemy type without taking a picture of it?

Not that I'm aware of - there's 5 levels of research for every enemy though. Your first picture for each enemy type usually takes care of level 1, but no way to check exactly where your at.

seems like quite a bit of an oversight that :/ that and not being able to check what tonics you have without being at a gene bank..

Could've sworn you could check your tonics with one of the load-out keys? Dont quote me on it, though.

There are a few odd choices in BioShock, like not being able to check all the items you've picked up for u-invent. I think they took 'streamlining' a little too far.
