Reseating heatsink

When the heatsink is reseated on a E6600 with reference cooler should i replace the thermal compound as shortly after building i had to reseat the cooler and i didn`t replace the compound? Just wondered if that might be why my temps are slightly high

You should always replace the thermal paste when you remove/reseat/change the heatsink as the connection is broken between the CPU and the heatsink

Yeah, it would be best to apply some new thermal compound. I'll be needing to do the sam soon.
