Reserved partition server 2008

I've got a Server 2008 VM that was reinstalled to change it from 64-bit to 32-bit and since the reinstall the 100mb reserved partition has gone from hidden to visable and allocated a drive letter. This has since been causing errors when the backup are run so i'm trying to hide it again without having to reinstall the o/s.

I'm unable to remove the drive letter in Windows, even tried safe mode and if I delete the partition I can't recreate it and the o/s won't start. Any ideas ?

Boot into WinPE and remove the drive letter with diskpart?

I hid the partition from Windows explorer by using the local security policy and moved the data drive to iSCSI and the errors have stopped.
