currently planning the layout of my watercooling setup, and before i finish the case mods and start installing stuff i have a question that i haven't been able to find a goods answer from with google yet.

basically my current plan had my reservoir in about the middle of the case, and i am wondering what happens when i come to fill the system. it's a cylinder res, one of these aquatube

it will be below the height of the cpu.

other details, its a single loop system, in a tj07 with pump and rad in the bottom, 2 graphics cards watercooled and cpu watercooled. the res is placed on the mid deck and i can't put it anywhere else due to other mods.

i was going to add a fill tube from a t piece in the tube going from the cpu block to the res, then use that to help bleed air out. i was thinking what would happen if i removed the top from the reservoir to fill it. will the fluid overflow from it?

I would say it's best to have it so that mavity will ensure the pump is filled with coolant at startup.

As for height relative to other components it's irrelevant.

It is best to have the reservoir above the pump and definitely in-line just before the pump. Middle of the case will be fine; when you prime just tip the case so the reservoir is as high as possible. As long as the pump has good head pressure, height is not going to be an issue.
