I got the swiftech kit and I decided to change the original micro reservoir with a bay one which is obviously larger. Does it matter that it can keep more water? Is there anything that I should change in my plans?
Also if after 1 liter of water and additives the tube isn't filled up should I just fill it up with distilled water?

It dosn't really matter what size res you have or indeed have a res at all.

Distilled water is fine but try and keep to the manufacturers ratio i.e 25ml per litre etc. Most people who build custom kits have there own ideas of how much and what additives to add (if any) so giving an opinion on how much you should add really is debatable, just rememebr that the more additive you do add, it will hinder cooling performance slightly. You want just enough to prevent corrosion/algae but not so much that it reduces the cooling properties of H2O.

I got a hydrX which should be mixed with 1liter of water. That is what i shall do and if i still need to put water it wouldnt matter i guess if i use a little bit of unmixed distilled.

I wouldn't worry too much. From what I've read at Xtremesystems is that the HydrX additive is too strong in the first place. i.e. that bottle could probably do 1.25 litres or something (maybe more). Swiftech was just ensuring the end-user was protected so made it stronger than needed.
