Hi All.

Got a Powerbook G4 here.

Forgotten Passwords. I dont know what version its running but I have a OS X 9.2 disk here.

If I choose the user I wish to reset the password on and reset it, then reboot. If I try and access that account it says

You are unable to log in to the user account [name] at this time

Any ideas?

I dont know how to reset master password, only other one I can see is root? Well I reset that too and it doesnt work either.

To reset your password I think you need your Mac OSX install discs, thats Panther, tiger or leopard

With the install disc in, restart whilst holding down C
and before you reinstall it , theres an option somewhere which says somth like Reset password...i think.

Yeah, thats what I've done.

I've got an OSX disc. But I'm not sure its the same version as on the machine already.

I hold down the apple options key during boot (alt) and I can choose to boot from the CD which is fine.

I can see the option to reset the password, but this isnt working. Once I change it and reboot it thinks about logging in with the password I assign it but then dumps out with the above error.
