Reset, Power and LED wires

Do these annoy anyone else??

I am trying to re-wire my Lian-Li PC 60 back to my motherboard after fitting a new heatsink and fan. There seems to be no logic to which way they go in.

I fit one and the light will be permanently on, turn it round and its fine.

God they annoy me. Am I being utterly stupid or are there any hard and fast rules to connecting them?

No case or motherboard manual I have ever had has shown which way round to connect speaker or reset wires etc. It has always been trial and error. They point out which prongs on the bank to hook up to but never tell you which one is positive or negative
