Reseting a jailbroken iPhone

Hi,

I've just picked up a 2nd hand iPhone(2G) from a friend to give to my GF. I want to reset it; erase all contacts, apps, settings etc back to default.

If I use 'Reset All Settings' will this do it safely? I'm concerned about it reverting to pre-jailbroken status.

iPhone Software/Firmware 2.2 can be jailbroken now, anyway.

Do a full restore in iTunes and use Quickpwn to jailbreak

That way it's truly a fresh start.

If not, just erase the content, and then erase the network settings etc separately.

Managed it in the end, did a full erase, updated to 2.2 then used QuickPwn.
