Hey everyone,

A few days ago I purchased a 600W OCZ StealthStream PSU.

For some reason, on a certain game at a certain point (Freelancer, when going through jump gates) my computer resets itself.

It's somewhat annoying and I do want to get to the bottom of this.

I had my Motherboard Monitor log running and I got the following readout:

<High_Low_Date date="23/08/2007">
- <Log ReadOuts="6" StartTime="23/08/2007 18:06:01" EndTime="23/08/2007 18:06:56" CPU="2198 MHz">
<Sensor Name="Case" Current="33º C" Low="31º C" High="33º C" Average="32º C" />
<Sensor Name="CPU" Current="35º C" Low="34º C" High="37º C" Average="35º C" />
<Sensor Name="Core 0" Current="1.47 V" Low="1.47 V" High="1.49 V" Average="1.49 V" />
<Sensor Name="+3.3" Current="3.30 V" Low="3.30 V" High="3.30 V" Average="3.30 V" />
<Sensor Name="+5.00" Current="4.89 V" Low="4.89 V" High="4.95 V" Average="4.92 V" />
<Sensor Name="+12.00" Current="12.22 V" Low="12.22 V" High="12.22 V" Average="12.22 V" />
<Sensor Name="-12.00" Current="-12.44 V" Low="-12.44 V" High="-12.35 V" Average="-12.40 V" />
<Sensor Name="-5.00" Current="3.55 V" Low="3.50 V" High="3.55 V" Average="3.52 V" />
<Sensor Name="CPU Fan" Current="3375 RPM" Low="3375 RPM" High="3375 RPM" Average="3375 RPM" />
<Sensor Name="System Fan" Current="6750 RPM" Low="6750 RPM" High="6750 RPM" Average="6750 RPM" />

At one point, my CPU was reaching 120 degrees C, so I hoovered the dust off the heat sink put the fan back on but still the resetting problem occurs. I was running Serious Sam fine (which is a more intensive game) for hours without a problem.

Everything is stock - no overclocking, video card running standard settings and my system spec is as follows:

MSI K8T Neo
Amd Athlon 64 3200+
1.5gb DDR PC3200 memory (various companies).
600W OCZ Stealthstream
MSI 256mb 6800GT.

I have a 450W PSU I can try this out on, but I am updating Windows Media Player and I am going to re-install freelancer first.

Any other steps I should take?

Thanks

Just re-installed Freelancer and updated Windows Media Player and still the same problem.

Going to also patch it to the latest version to see if the problem re-occurs.

Can this only ever now be a PSU problem or could something else be causing this?

Thanks
