Resident Evil 4 - Wii

I had it on GC and got it on order for Wii.. i only played it through on normal difficulty tho so might try the Wii one on hard from the off.

Been a while since i played it too so should be pretty fresh.

My order has been posted. :)

I've never played the original RE4 before so i'm looking forward to this as I liked all the previous RE games.

I've had a quick go of the Wii version and the control system works really well. Reminds me of arcade shooters such as Time Crisis etc, completely adds a new feel to it.

If anyone has the game and has played it for a while, really like to know ya thoughts on it! Im sure plenty of you will have it tomorrow!

It's fantastic, but being resi 4 you already know that. The Wiimote makes an excellent addition to the game and draws you in well. I'm not sure it's worth buying if you have played through the GC version though. Definitely worth it over the PS2 version!

Just ordered this, only got my Wii yesterday afternoon. I've been enjoying Wii Sports with my flatmate immensly (lol that sounded a bit rude, Ooooeeer :) ), Zelda has been a bit slow to get into but is getting better now. And Rez 4 just looks ace. Never played it before, so hopefully it will live up to expectations!

To be hounest im thinking of either getting a wii and this or a 360 and the darkness!

I love the RE story lines, i cant get enough of RE and RE2

I think they are the best zombie story line about.

This is by far my favourite RE game. I highly recommend it and this is by far the best version of it.

I will be picking this up Friday morning.

A friend had Resident Evil 1 on the PSX which I played for a few minutes although other than that, ive never played a Resident Evil game but a few people at work rate this VERY highly.

Is the Resident Evil Remake on the 'Cube any good?

Im hoping this sells well and we see a resurgance of Arcade shooters on the Wii..

Virtua Cop
House Of The Dead
Time Crisis
Point Blank
Jurassic Park

Would also give the Wii an edge as the games would be specifically for the wii.

That sounds like one hell of a recommendation to me :) How you mentioned it is exactly how I was hoping the controls would be, especially after watching/reading some of the online reviews.

I think if you'll like resident evil 4, it'd be better on the Wii, although I haven't played that version myself, aiming with the wiimote would be a lot more accurate I would have thought.

My main gripe with resident evil 4 was that it wasn't scary. It should never have been billed as a survival horror game, it was just an action game. The combat was fun but I thought several sections of the game got repetitive.

Still, most people seem to really love it. If you like it as much as you say I'm sure it'll be even better with the new control system.

Just played up till after the1st village part, the game controls very well, it’s a lot easier to aim with the wii-mote, took me a min or 2 to get used to the controls and them I was off getting head shots left right and center :D

I think Eurogamer smoke crack.

The only bad review ive read. Not heard a bad word about it anywhere else.

The problem is that the aiming process is an uneasy conjunction between pointing the Wiimote and twiddling the analogue stick. You'll point the Wiimote at things you want to shoot, but this is a wobbly, fuzzy experience, compared to the precision of the previous versions of the game.

Is the above true?

Came in from work to find that this game was delivered today. :D

Only been playing it for an hour but have gotten into it and so far seems really good, I found the controls very easy to get used to and work well.

Looks like my Wii needs to be replaced, just put RE4 in to play a few hours ago and there's a lot of artefacts in the picture (green and blue dots all over the place). The disc seems ok, doesn't have a scratch or mark on it.

I put in Zelda to check if it was a problem with the Wii itself, i could only just see some artefacts in the picture but nowhere near what i can see in RE4 :(

Does anyone know how i can back up virtual console games if it needs to be replaced?

Took a couple of minutes to get used to the controls, but now I'm pulling off headshots with the best of them.

Quite satisfying shooting dynamite while it's still in the enemies hand, always had trouble doing that with the GC controller.
BTW does anybody else find the pump action sound from the wiimote speaker REALLY satisfying ;)
