So Capcom have announced two lots of DLC for Resident Evil 5.

The first Lost in Nightmares is set in the Spencer Mansion, sound sinteresting, sad thing is it is rumopured to only last an hour. :/

Both download chapters, Desperate Escape and Lost in Nightmares are included in the Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition, due out for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for $49.99 on March 9, 2010. The download versions of Desperate Escape will be out on March 3 for Xbox 360 and March 4 for PlayStation 3, with the Lost in Nightmares DLC available on Xbox Live from the 17th February and will both cost 400MSP/$4.99.

It will be interesting to read some reviews on these DLC packs to see how they fair when they are reviewed.

It would be awesome now they have modelled the Spencer Mansion to get a DLC RE1 re-make. But I guess that's asking for too much.

Only one hour, that is (too) short.

As for a RE1 remake, I guess it has the same chance as ever seeing a Final Fantasy VII remake, never most likely :(

I know 1 hour is silly, although in another IGN preview it did say that it was rumoured to be upto 2 hours. Yes it's very very short still, and the question of is it worth a fiver still has to be asked.

Pretty sure i read that on the 360 disc version you get codes to download the extras and the PS3 version they are included on the disk.
It looks like Capcom USA was tired of us making fun of the proposed name for the upcoming Resident Evil 5 expansion, "Alternative Edition." The division has chosen a bling-ier title for its stateside release: Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition. Gold Edition will be released as a retail box copy on March 9 for $49.99 as a single Blu-ray disc, including the original game and add-on content, on PS3 and as a DVD with download voucher for Xbox 360.

If you already have Resident Evil 5, you'll be able to pick up the first DLC chapter earlier. "Lost in Nightmares" and a custom pack will be available for download on February 17 for Xbox 360 and February 18 for PS3, while the second, unnamed DLC episode will be released March 3 (Xbox 360) and 4th (PS3) alongside a second costume pack. No mention has been made of a possible PC release.

Update: Capcom passed along dates for the European release. The PAL DLC release dates are the same as those reported above. However, the Gold Edition retail release will be Friday, March 12.

Is that the one that's called Resident Evil zero?

Its just called Resident Evil

I really hope Capcom decides to release the new DLC stuff for the PC version of the game, otherwise it is just unfair and I may have to pick up a console version instead. At least I will get split-screen offline play and the Versus stuff which was stupidly never included in the PC version.

The split screen on xbox is annoying though - the two displays are stepped and not full screen... convinced me to buy a second copy so i could enjoy co-op with my bro.

Get a bigger TV :p

Looking forward to this, as I really enjoyed playing RE5 with the gf.

Awww sucks, i only just got Resi 5 as well, should have waited till the new edition came out. Its still sealed, maybe i should sell this and grab the gold edition instead???

The new stuff will be DLC so you won't need to sell the original version, unless you want it all on disc which the new Gold Edition includes.
