Resident Evil 5 Problem

i just bought the game on steam and for some reason it wont let me connect to live because it thinks i have a invalid cd key :confused:

also for some reason when i run the benchmark im getting over 70fps in the first 3 areas but when it goes to area 4 my framerate drops to 5fps

these are my specs, everything at stock speeds and im running the game in DX10 mode

Windows 7 Home Premium 64
Intel Core 2 Duo E8600
Nvidia GTX295
Corsair Dominator 8GB (4x2GB) DDR2 XMS2 PC2-8500C5 TwinX
Asus P5Q Deluxe
Corsair HX 850W Psu
Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA

tried running it with DX9 to see if any better?

does seem strange for a decent spec machine to get hit like that. graphics and sound drivers up to date? failing that verify local game files in steam. dunno after that....

I got that message when I installed it yesterday.

I hit the Connect button, then Try Again a couple of times, then the dialog popped up allowing me to enter my registration key.

i just downloaded the latest drivers and if i still get the low framerate ill try it in DX9 mode, does anyone know what effects i will be missing?

thanks for the help guys, the new drivers fixed the problem with the framerate and retrying a few times sorted out the serial problem
