Is it just me or is this game unplayable on PC?

I am a resident evil fan boy (big style) I played RE1 RE2 RE3 and I even bought a gamecube to play RE 0 RE 1 (remake) and RE4 I also played RE Code Veronica X on PS 2. Even though I have nothing to play it on I own a copy of Resident Evil directors cut.

I have tried to play RE5 on PC and it is possibly the worst game I have ever played! I am gutted to say the least.

Am I wrong? Am I missing something?

i completed it on PC and found it fine. the fact you can run and aim / shoot at same time is annoying but you get used to it
 
I actually really enjoyed the game from start to finish and I've only played it on the PC. Controls and stability where fine
 
A little more elaboration about why you think this game bad would be nice. As mentioned above, what is wrong with it? The controls? Poor performance? Or it just couldn't compare to what Resident Evil 4 did?

I personally find the game to be great. While it is annoying that it lacks the offline split-screen play and Versus content from the Xbox 360/PS3 versions, this PC version is one of the best looking and optimised games ever, running silky smooth at 60+ FPS as opposed to the 30FPS limit on the consoles, especially if you have a good system rig. Control wise, it works very well with the keyboard and mouse and so much faster than on gamepad.
 
also a huge re fan, played all of them except any on nintendo, I must say i found 5 amazing too and took my time and read all the data and reports scattered around in the game. I just loved the story line, but fond it fast paced compared to the others.
Still an amazing game and ran like a dream on my pc.
 
It's one of the most "playable" games ever; my PC scores 158 fps in the variable benchmark, giving me an easy, flat v-synced 60 fps through three playthroughs of the game.

It couldn't be any more perfect. Perfect controls, perfect everything. It is, without doubt, the master build of the game.

So in light of all that, exactly what the hell is your problem with it?

Its just you/your missing something as its a perfect port of an excellent game.

I guess your using mouse+kb??
 
The mouse/keyboard on RE5 was VERY well done, replicated the ham-fisted panic of using the controller perfectly. I'm assuming that's what you're referring to when you say that it's unplayable.
The game on the other hand, was pretty lacklustre.
 
I actually agree with OP - I loved RE1 and RE2 the only thing this really has in common is that it's called RE5 it could be another shooter.

I just didn't get it at all. Probably me.

It gave me motion sickness really badly, I only played it for an hour- it looked like it was going to be decent though, just the motion sickness made it unplayable for me. So I replayed RE4 on the wii :P
 
As PC ports go, it is magnificent, i have played better games certainly but i cant fault the engine
 
I felt it played alright once I got it running (had to use a user patch for my x1950).

It didn't feel like Resident Evil though. That was disappointing.

What is that supposed to mean? It is not a troll thread in the slightest.

As I said I am a massive RE fan however I find the controls clumsy, your enemys too close and just a general feeling of claustrophobia.

If I am missing something I will persevere as I am a fan I just didn't want to waste my time.

I have tried both Xbox 360 controller and keyboard and mouse.
