It gave me motion sickness really badly, I only played it for an hour- it looked like it was going to be decent though, just the motion sickness made it unplayable for me. So I replayed RE4 on the wii :P

I had really bad motion sickness due to the smooth framerate since the PC version runs so much faster than the console versions (60+FPS rather than limited to 30FPS), but after a while I got used to it. I had no problem with the console versions before. You can have the option of limiting the framerate to 30FPS, so maybe this could help.

Yeah, i really enjoyed RE5, esp. the co-op, but the series does seem to be more shooter than survival horror. I think the awkwardness is intentional - harder to play, therefore more challenging. Prevents the run and gun technique.

RE5 is more action based than puzzle based which was ok for me :)
but i also liked resi 1 2 and 3 'back in the day' lol
it does take some getting used to but when you get into it you will enjoy, just tell yourself your not playing resident evil and you will be fine :D

I miss the creepy theme of the earlier resi's,played resi 5 for a few hours and was impressed with the look and initial playability of the game but lost interest quickly for some reason.

Will go back and finish eventually though,it's an excellent shooter that retains the completely deliberate claustrophobic, cumbersome character view/movement of the earlier resi's which leads to some very tense, panicky zombie encounters, but for me the game somehow lacks the charm (if you can ever call slaying hordes of zombies charming) of the earlier resi's.

I can imagine the multi-player co-op would be the best playing option for this game though, the A.I of your partner in single player is annoyingly crap at times.

The first part takes a bit to get used to. I still feel that the controls feel clumsy initially.
I am now playing it through and it seems OK.

I have tried using the Xbox controller however the kekboard and mouse seem better for me.

I have just noticed RE 1.5 whilst I was doing a search aka Biohazard 2.
Has anyone played this or does anyone own it? I think it is only 80% complete and was scrapped to make way for RE2 as we know it.

The controls are supposed to be clumsy and stiff (Movement wise) as it is a deliberate mechanic that gives off the same tank control clunkiness of the older games. Shooting though is so much easier when using the mouse and is one of the best advantages of the PC version, along with the extra performance and higher framerate.

I honestly hope that Capcom can at least consider releasing the new DLC content for the PC version, especially when the Lost in Nightmares episode contains the old-school perspective camera as well added bonus.
