Started this again. Bought it on ps3 years ago but framerate was crap. Got ps4 version and its silky 60fps. Why all the hate? It's just an evolution of 4 and 5.

Only do e Leon's story and on chapter 3 of Chris's enjoying it so far

Loved 4. Bought An Ngc for it. But it's so dated now. Had a hard time enjoying the ps4 hd version. 5 plays much better.

I am a massive RE fan and I really enjoyed the Leon campaign but I just couldn't get into Chris' campaign, so I never bothered with Jake's.

RE4 is one of the greatest games of all time, and I feel it holds up well today.
 
RE6 is such a mixed bag of pretty decent with the Leon Mission to some utter crap. It really jumps the shark with some of the enemies but actually has some really great parts in my opinion. The Jake and Cherie parts are not great and the Ustinak is a big rehash of some of the previous enemies (MrX, Nemesis etc) but even that part has a couple of good stealth parts from what I can recall. The Aida part is pretty poor in comparison to her previous outings. It does have a great boss fight later in the game.

It does however suffer from pretty sloppy, inconsistent and repetitive combat and the stupid amount of QTE is a joke.

I have been a RE fan from the first game and although 6 wasn’t, in most part, really survival horror but more action game in the RE universe it wasn’t as bad as people make out. Not up there with 4(my fav) or some of the other games.
 
The only part of this that was good was the initial Leon part, everything else was horrific. Worst game in the entire franchise.

You wouldn't of missed much by skipping it

You clearly haven't played Umbrella Corps :D. In all seriousness though. Definitely one of the worst.
 
Literally one of the worst games I've played. Never tried so hard to like a game. I don't get how anyone can NOT hate it .
What do you like about it?

I loved re5, tried 7 but well stopped playing that although didn't seem bad. I hear 8 is real good, but more exited for silent hill 2 remake at some point! And dead space.

RE7 and 8 are both really good, I'd give 7 another try and then pick up 8.
