Morning all,

I want to make a jump into 3d printing and think resin fits my ideas better (miniatures and smaller pieces)

I think(think) I’m settled on the mars 3 but before buying wanted some advice or just input from people with more experience.

Firstly - for the price is there anything better? Having watched videos there doesn’t seem to be much in it between the 2 pro. I haven’t really done a lot of research into other brands though.

Secondly - and if this is against the rules ignore it - but what online stores are decent and reliable? I fear there are a lot set up that are basically drop

Finally the wash and cure stations - I don’t plan on doing a massive volume of stuff, just bits here and there. Will one be worth it or will manual cleaning be alright?

Hey,

I'll try and answer you question but I sold my resin printer a while ago but it was an Elegoo MARS and I was very happy with it.
1) Honestly resin printers are pretty simple so there isn't much between them (Ones in the same class I mean) So I'd watch some video/reviews and go with which one you like best.
2) Not sure I can answer that because I'm not sure how the rules work anymore, lol. But maybe look at the manufactures themselves.
3) I used my resin printer for a while before having a wash and cure station. Honestly I'd get one again if I went to resin again. I had an Anycubic wash/cure which was just one unit rather than the 2 unit option you can get now. If you didn't go for one, you have to make sure to clean ALL the resin off before handling it and then you have to find a way to cure it. I made my own UV LED box, which was ok but a pain to use.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply. I’m gonna throw myself into YouTube reviews and finally commit. Wash and cure station might make things easier so hopefully a bundle will be about.

If at all possible do get a wash/cure station. I’d really hate to be without mine, resin printing’s still a bit of a messy affair with one but it would be much worse without. It does a good job of the cleaning too.

As for the printer I’ve no experience with the Mars 3 pro but I’ve got a Mars 2 and have been really happy with it. As above I also feel like they’re all so similar it literally just comes down to spec and price mostly. I’d happily buy another Elegoo anyway.
