Worth buying? They are games I always wanted to play but just never got around to them. With Resistance 3 on the way I was thinking about giving them a shot, I have other games to satisfy my multiplayer needs so I would only be playing single player on these games.

Let me know fellas cheers.

I found with the first that I was quite bored to start, but then a couple of hours in something clicked and really had fun with the rest of it.

I found the second started of well, but I got bored with the last few hours...

They are not bad, but not great and are definitely, in my opinion, games that should be acquired cheaply.

I will play the third, but only once I can pick it up for under £15.

I'd say go for it, it will help to get an understanding of the plot (which is a good thing to know in this case). The first one also has a campaign coop (The second has coop, but its classed based and better with more than 2 people)

I'd echo the sentiments of the above. Certainly worth a play through if you pick them up cheap. Not the greatest FPS games by any stretch, but the first one grew on me enough that I wanted to find out what happened in the second one.

Just a quick search shows that from one well known national trade-in store, you can get both games for a grand total of a tenner.

The first one is a little slow for the first quarter, but after that it really kicks off, its a long game as well.

Second game overall is better, it looks better is still a good length, but it swaps the weapons handling so you can only carry 2 instead of the Doom style load out of the first one where you had everything.

Never played the first but spent plenty of hours on the 2nd.

The singleplayer is good. Not fantastic but still it was enjoyable enough for me to play through twice.

Co-op MP is where it's at, brilliant scenarios with tonnes to kill, very good fun if you can get some mates togethether. Donno how many people are still playing it though.

I found the opposite. I was hooked on the first one from the second I put it in but the second one took me 2 years to complete. I got stuck near the middle of the game and stopped playing. I picked it up a couple of months ago and finished it off.
I'm unsure weather to get the 3rd day one or wait a few months and get it when its cheaper

I played 2 first and thought it was quite good but nothing special. I started the the first a few months ago and play it now and again. It looks really rough in places. It's hard. Looking at the level list on walkthroughs, it looks huge.

Sounds odd but I really missed the female voice over person from the first game! Never got hooked on the second as a result.
