Bought this months ago, got half way and was like "this is just so average I have better games to spend time on". Anyway it sat there in it's annoying silver, eye-catching, platinum case screaming "You bought me, 8 whole pounds you paid for me, and can't even be bothered to complete me...... you worthless, disgusting piece of ****".

Serious mental issues aside, this game absolutely rocks IF you play it right, and only from half way through. Basically if you play this game slowly, you will notice the bad graphics, poor enemy ai and annoyingly weak guns. But if you use every single weapon at your disposal and play it fast switching weapons constantly it becomes absolutely epic. This alongside the amazingly big fights later on.

Anyone else think this was a great game?

Still one of my favourite PS3 games, although the texture detail is quite low some of the modelling work is still epic even by today's standards, especially the Chimeran architecture, The weapon wheel is a fantastic implementation and a shame it was left out of Resistance 2.

I recently bought this game for £5 preowned! Still playing it but i'm close to completing it, looking forward to buying Resistance 2 :)

I thought it was average at best. I played it through in co-op and it was pretty fun (but then co-op makes even average games better)

The so called inventive weapon design was a let down though, most of them seemed gimick-y and we found ourself using the standard rifle the most.

The big fights were pretty cool although the A.I. was lacking.

Indeed it's one of the best console FPS games in my opinion. Fantastic story, great pace, decent graphics and sound... it's got it all really.

the only game I've bought for the PS3 and completed(well it came with it), thought it was quite epic, it made me go out and buy Res2 at full price on release day. that I have not yet completed. but getting there.

bullit

Its a very good game.
I was disappointed they changed the weapon system in 2, some of the battles in 2 leave just a little too short on ammo.

Having only purchased a PS3 on the release of the Slim I missed by Resistance games. My bro didn't rate the first on launch but I've always thought they both looked good. Might be one of those games you pick up in a bargain bin when it's a dry few months - certainly not at the minute though!

Would you need to play both or could you get away by jumping straight into R2?

It is indeed a great game, Unfortunately some people could never make it through the some what slow paced early sections, And it's a shame for them as I found it to be an absolutely fantastic game. The only reason I've stopped recommending it to people now is graphics wise, with it being an early release it's some what dated now. but if you can see past that, the game is great.

My favourite thing about resistance is you felt like you were in a War, It wasnt you against the enemy
