Resistance 2 split screen co-op

As title says...my brother text me today saying they had patched it in.

Can anyone confirm this for me please?

I know there is already a split screen co-op but it doesnt follow the story the same as the first Resistance game, my brother says it now does?

nope campaign is still one play only he must be talking about the 8 people co-op mode where can sign in 2 psn id

wish it did, i loved resistance 1 on co-op but i have no idea what the idea was with 2, rented it and played it with a mate for a bit, didn't understand what was going on really and sent it back...
