Resistance - Update??

Hi guys! So after about a month of not bothering with my ps3 i decided to buy Resistance yesterday mainly so i had a decent online ps3 game but to play online the game needs to download an update and currently im getting "Estimated Time Remaining: 2 hours 15 minutes", so im just wandering why does it take this long on a 10 mb connection and what is in the update? A whole new bloody game or something??

Man i hate my ps3... still!

p.s i am GETTING REALLY PEEVED OFF NOW!!! The stupid thing keeps freakin crashing due to a network error so i have to start all over again!! ARRGHH!

I downloaded the update Friday evening, and it took about 6-7 mins on a wireless 10MB connection.

EDIT: The network error is happening for everyone. I haven't been able to use it since last night because of the error, its' not just you.
 
If you get the 'Login Failed' error, just switch your PS3 off at the power switch on the back of the console, and switch it back on and it should work :)
 
This is just because all the R:FOM servers are jammed.

I only managed to get back online today at 10am, just be patient :cool:
 
Nearly 12 hours and still no luck!! Just started again for the 8th time!! I have tried everything, resetting my router, swapping to wired instead of wirless and it still keeps freezing or giving me the connection error! Tbh i have never liked Sony and only brought my ps3 so i could have all 3 consoles, but now i really do actually hate Sony so much!!
 
I been playing onlinbe on it for the past hour maybe, no probs.
Did you try switching the PS3 off at the mains? And you checked myresistance.net to see if there is anything there?
 
Is it much better with the yanks, do they all have headsets?

Just getting the new maps now!

Tried it this morning and no problems, took about 15 mins to download and install. Soon as it was finished I reset the console and it was fine, managed to connect straight away the several times i quit and restarted the game. Now downloading map pack, see if i have any probs after that.
 
Another twist! I have never been peeved off and laughing at the same time!! I just got off the phone to Phony i mean Sony and all they could tell me is, "It's a known issue and all we can suggest is trying to download the update in the afternoon"! Are these guys for frickin real?

I really just dont know what to say, i have never had worse advice from a "Support" line in my life! :o
 
Ok, I'm getting pretty annoyed now.

The issue lies with Insomniac Games.. If you check out THIS you will see that the latest game update / switchover to global servers has caused BIG problems for a LOT of users.

If you would be patient i'm sure they'll release a fix for the network error issue, and everyone would be back to normal.. afterall, I had these issues last night but they're fine for me now.

Really is no need for the "I hate my PS3" bashing :mad:
