Resizable bar will not enable

Hi all, it's probs something I should have paid attention to ages ago. But for some reason, I can't get this to enable. The latest bios for my motherboard updates the vbios for the 3070 I am using, and of course, have this enabled via the motherboard bios.
I don't know what else to try really, it may not be a huge deal as I am sure I will swap my 3070 soon anyway. But just very odd I cannot get it to enable lol.

Any help would be appreciated as always.

Given that of the games that benefit from it, the difference is imperceivable.
I really wouldn’t worry about it.

Yeah I have noticed this with my hero 690 I enable it in the bios .but when in desktop it says its not enabled .

Theres something called above 4g encoding you also need to enable. Have you done this?

Sorry I'm retarded, it's "Above 4G Encoding". Pci subsystem settings on my ASUS bios.

I just installed the vbios, enabled that setting, enabled bar in bios and it worked..

I've just enabled the 4g encoding and done. As people have said, I guess it does very little, but maybe something in certain titles.I doubt i will have the 3070 much longer given all the new GPU out soon any way.

in some games its worse performance cause nvidia cant be trusted to enable or disable it properly when needed

Nope. But the other teams performance with SAM seems to fair much better. Might be due to the overheads already on the nvidia driver nullifying any gains, but it looks like barely any titles are worth toggling on for. Would be good to find out if anyone out there has deep dived into it.

Will do. Was hoping it would be a useful addition to the suite on some games @mrk but I wont write it off just yet so its much like RTX IO at this stage...

I will have a play with it on and off with the next round of games I plan to play such as Callisto Protocol, Last of Us Remake, dead Space Remake and couple others all coming out within 3 months of each other and go from there really. RTX IO is still a ways off it seema.
