Resize partitions

I currently have my MBP HDD partition into to 2 where one is my System and the other Filestore.
Can I safely shrink the second partition and increase the first partition using the built in Disk Utility without erasing any data??

Having tried using Disk Utility, I could resize my second Filestore partition no problem but it would not let me resize the first System partition to use the space that I had free'd up.
Gonna try doing it from the Boot CD, see if it works that way.

Tried using Disk Utility from the boot disc and still no joy. Looks like a third party app it is then.
