Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.
Your CPU is what's holding you back currently then, it'll probably struggle with any 1440p related tasks so improving its performance helps your GPU do its job.
You need to have vsync on in conjunction with gsync to eliminate screen tearing
If you have vsync off, if the frame rate goes above the max for the monitor it’ll tear

Mine never tears with Vsync off and 200fps on a 100Hz monitor. VSync, GSync, input lag and tearing is just a whole other can of worms.
Yes just read this article https://uk.pcmag.com/pc-games/132126/how-to-set-up-nvidia-g-sync-for-smooth-tear-free-pc-gaming
So ideally you want GSYNC and VSYNC ON and set in game frame limiter a few frames below the maximum refresh rate of the monitor. Going to have a play with this tonight.
