Resolution help

Hey

I just received my new build today, everything seems all good and working fine but im using a samsung lcd hd tv as my monitor. I was under the impression that this would handle 1080p but highest windows or my graphics card utility will let me set it at is 720p, windows looks pretty awful but games such as just cause 2 look great and movie play back is fine also, my screen is 26.5" would a 24" display better? my flatmates new 1080p 32" displays at a slighter higher res so im confused. any idea's would be appreciated

Looking through the manual you can't use 1080p, the max res of the screen looks like 1360 x 768.

1360x768 for 26.5"? Awful. Getting a new screen is advisable.

yeah its only letting me use 1280x720

That's cos it's a TV - not a PC monitor.

How are you connecting it - VGA or DVI/HDMI? That might have something to do with why you can only use 1280x720. That or video card/drivers not supporting 1360x768.

I'd take the TV back and get a proper monitor like you have linked to above.

I assume you are using hdmi connection and the TV has more than one HDMI port. If so, try all of them. Only one of the ports support the native resolution of 13..x76.
