Resolution issue with Dell U2713H

Just bought myself a U2713H. I have a 7800GT and am running two monitors off it with HDMI cables.

With the 2713H set at 2560 x 1440 the writing on screen is very fuzzy and can't be read. Set at 1920 x 1080 it is fine.

Anyone got any ideas on what could be wrong, is a 7800GT fit for running at 2560 x 1440?
 
I am stumped woth this one, I wonder of there is a n issue with me requiring dual-link DVI to get the max resolution. Perhaps the 7800GT doesn't have dual-link output? Has anyone come across this before?
 
Sorry my mistake in my original post. I have it connected with a DVI cable but can't get a decent display on anything over 1920 x 1080.
