Resolution on 2nd monitor messed up

Since formatting my hard drive I've ran into a couple of problems, with my latest one being that I have a large black border around my second monitor and can't properly extend it to 1080p, even though it is set as it under the control panel. My main monitor is connected with a DVI, and my second is with a HDMI. The former seems to be absolutely fine, as do both of them if I select to duplicate the screen, but when they're both separate I have this problem with my second monitor.

My gpu is an R9 280X, and I've re-installed the drivers for both my motherboard and my graphics card to no avail.
 
I've managed to kind of fix the border issue, but I still have the problem that I'm sat on 1050p and not 1080p due to the fact that it isn't displayed under the catalyst center?
