Hey all

Bit of a strange one here, hoping it will jog someones memory, im presuming its something to do with my graphics card (or possibly windows?).

In any event, whenever I switch from 72mhz to 75mhz on the monitor my screen size goes completely out of whack and I have to resize it using the monitor menu options. It isnt a big thing but does anyone know why it is happening?

my dxdiag if its any help.

Usually your monitor will save its size/position settings for every resolution and refresh rate, so I think there may be a very minor problem with your monitor if it's happening every time you switch refresh rate. Either that, or your monitor may not be intended to save the size/position like that, I know mine does since I go from 85hz @ 1280x960 and below to 75hz @ 1600x1200.

cheers mate youre right, thought it was a gpu issue but its happening across the board. *goes to surf for new monitors* thx again.

I'm guessing its a CRT? If so, that's perfectly normal, sort of a safe size & position which you just resize accordingly. Like said, most monitors will remember the settings.

Also, ideally you should be running at 70Hz & above for the sake of your eyes. Simple experiment if you have a digital camera or phone camera: Set monitor to 60Hz then point camera at screen. See what your eyes see (through camera LCD/screen)

Definitely true. My monitor goes up to 1600x1200, but will only do 75hz at that resolution and gives me migraines if I look at it too long, so I tend to game in 1280x960 @ 85hz instead.
