Resolution Problem

Hello all o/

Having a frustrating problem with my computer at the moment and I'll try my best to explain it below.

It was after quiting out of UT3 that my right hand monitor (22" 1680 x 1050) pushed the desktop down about half an inch, so that my task bar at the bottom has disapeared and a half inch black area appeared at the top! Now, I can still select everything in the task bar so its as if my computer has just moved the image desktop down and I dont know how to get it back.

I have an 8800 GTX and have tried uninstalling the drivers first, and reinstalling them to no avail. The windows login screen appears correctly, only when I login to my account does it change. Also, when I select smaller resolutions the screen fills again and is normal (well, normal as far as using the wrong resolution is concerned).

I was looking for the Nvidia screen adjustment tools that I remember having years ago, that lets you adjust the vertical position but that seems to have been removed in this series of drivers? (I'm using Windows VISTA). I have also tried tinkering with the options on the monitor itself, but the fact the login screen is fine suggest its a software issue rather than it being the monitor.

Any suggestions? I'm stuck in a rut at the moment!!!

I have tried that, though the option is blanked out on my monitor.

Though I say again, the login screen is fine in Vista so the monitor manual settings are fine!

Also, when I launch games the game fills the screen properly, so it is only when I'm on the desktop itself that I'm getting this issue

Really sorry for bumping this up, but I am now at a loss and a few steps away from reinstalling Windows.

Any suggestions would be appreciated
