Hey everyone, just recieved my new moniter. The Asus VH226H.

When I first loaded Windows I set the reolution to 1920 x 1080, the highest res the moniter can reach, but in-game, the highest res that I can pick is 1600 x 1200, which, when I select, is supported, and plays fine.

My question is, since it says it's running at 1600 x 1200, is it really running at this res, even thiough the highest reported one is 1920 x 1080? Or is it saying 1600 x 1200 and actually just using 1920 x 1080?

Maybe the games just dont support HD.

What game(s) are you referring to?

As far as i know, the game won't be running at 1200 vertical when its native and max is 1080, so chances are it may just be strecthing the image across with a height of 1080.

Hope you don,t mind me asking but what do you think of this monitor ? i know its off the track of the thread , but had to ask ;)

Lol, I feel like an idiot now, I didn't set it to widescreen mode. The game was thinking the moniter was 4:3 and was just stretching. I was testing on CSS, Unreal 3 and TF2.

The moniter is fantastic, haven't noticed any ghosting, great colours, and it looks fantastic with games and movies. Worth every penny.

Although, with the default settings everything has a greenish tint. Which I am still trying to fix. Anyone got any suggestions?

Normally you can change this in the monitor settings (probably the easiest and best), or you might change it in the nVidia/ATI control panel. Find a monitor colour calibration page online, and once you've had your monitor on for an hour or so to warm up, follow the instructions to adjust brightness, contrast, and then colour.
