I've got a couple questions.

I've got a 48701gb and q6600 (Stock speed) currently on a 19 inch screen.
Ive just purchased the 23 " Samsung SM2343BW (2048x1152 Resolution) just wondered whether i will see an increase in performance or a decrease (fps wise) or will it just be the same ( currently gaming at 1280 x 1024).

You will see lower FPS in most games which is easy to see when you realize that it'll be rendering across nearly twice as many pixels.

Whether or not that matters depends on what games you play and the rest of your spec. the only way to know for sure is to try it.
