I am trying to run multiple instances of chrome simultaneously
4 x instances of chrome on 1 monitor there is 4 monitors in total
total of 16 instances of chrome only nothing else running in the background.

I have attached my system specs below. If anyone knows why such a decent system seems to be lagging so much for chrome please help a brother out

  • 4 x Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (1x 8GB) 3000MHz DDR4 RAM
  • AMD Ryzen 9 3900X Gen3
  • Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB NITRO+
  • MSI X570 -A Pro Motherboard
  • Samsung 860 250gb SSD
Latest and updated windows 10 os, Updated mobo drivers, Bios, and Gpu drivers.
Gave High priority to Chrome

When I check resource monitor

cpu is at 15/20%
Ram is at 7.5gb of 32gb
Disk keeps spiking from 30 to 100. constant up and down
Network keeps Spiking from 30 to 100 constant up and down

Can anyone suggest anything I can do to help smooth out my user experience with chrome?

screenshots of Task Manager showing Processes and Performance would help.

I would take a look at anything you've got syncing or for stuck updates.

it'll be the hdd usage at a guess causing the slow downs. I've witnessed this a lot and it's always been some syncing service such as itunes/dropbox or updates.

Also, what are you running in chrome?

I use Brave now. Chrome was killing my work laptop due to the amount of resources it wanted

I've currently 57 tabs open on chrome, using less than 12% CPU and around 1033MB ram

I know it's know to have some memory issues but I've never experienced it myself.

chrome is resource hungry .. I use great discarder extension to ensure tabs that are not active are unloaded (until I click on them next time)

You know I have tried everything except trying a different browser. I am so used to chrome that a different browser wasn't even an option.
I have tried 16 instances of Firefox and its super smooth.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Firefox for the win
