I've currently got a Chenbro Gaming Bomb II case, and when my 7800GTX fan speeds up during gaming, the case resonates like mad... I've tried the blu tac method to stop it but to no avail, and its driving me mad...

I'm thinking of changing the case to an Akasa Eclipse 62 (with a future C2D upgrade in mind), and was wondering if people are suffering with resonance on this case?

Any opinions appreciated... Thx... :)

No resonance here on my eclipse go for it
it's huge may not be as pretty as a lian li
but the layout size performance are second to none.

Aluminium cases are complete barstewards to silence. Dampening panels has a much, much smaller effect compared to isolating all noise and vibration creating sources from the case. The most effective ways of doing this are to soft mount fans using the pull through rubber grommets and to suspend hard drives using products like Stretch Magic. This is an excellent example of how to do it and is similar to what I did in my Aurora when I had it. The best thing about Stretch Magic is that it only costs a pound or two for a few metres compared to £25 for Acoustipack.

the stretch magic looks good, but do they hold the hard disks in place?

I.e. if you decide to move the case are the hard disks going to fall out

true, but the source of the resonance is his 7800GTX ...?

tweaking the other fans won't fix that
