After going on about taking my wife to be to Egypt for our honeymoon, I've now decided to go to Mexico after seeing and hearing a lot of good things about the resorts there. They mostly seem to be based in Cancun and after looking at the brochures they all looks fantastic.

Has anyone been to any resorts there and can they give me their opinions of them please?

Thanks

The only thing that's a bit of a problem with the resorts in my mind are the amount of people staying there. I know i won't really get a private honeymoon in the sense it's just me and my girl for the fortnight, but with these resorts having 500+ room, i worry about the amount of people there.

Are there enough things for me to do there? She is happy to sun bathe for 2 weeks but after two minutes i'll get bored and need to do something.

Moon Palace - just outside cancun.

Absolute Paradise & we were treated like King and Queen for 2 weeks. And you can use the facilities at any of the other 5 resorts they own in the area.

how far away are each of the resorts roughly?

Were they all packed with other holiday makers or were they quiet?

If you want a quiet romantic honeymoon an all inclusive resort hotel in Cancun really probably isn't the best option, allthough a lot will depend on what time of year you plan on going. Personally if your wedding is next summer I'd look to go to somwehere like Thailand as it's the off season and much quieter you could have a lovely week in an Island Paradise like Ko Phi Phi in relative piece and mix it up with a few days in Bangkok or one of the livlier islands

We were thinking of Thailand as our second option, but we've happily settled with Mexico. I think if we do want a day to ourselves then we can ask the concierge there for some quiet places where we can go, or some excursions to go on.

Has anyone has any issues security wise, or any other horror stories. On Trip Advisor and there are a few awful reviews for some of the resorts, but the Excellent reviews far outweigh them

Just asked at the travel agents about Cancun and they said that the hurricane season is June - October :/ ><

It's not so much when we're there (although that's a part of it) but if it affects our travel back to the UK which is on my mind a bit more.
