Hi all. Well on jan 10th its my birthday and looking to buy a new monitor for my new PC what I got from here about 2 month ago.

I am considering one of these 2.

Asus Rog Swift 165hz

Dell 144hz
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/dell...reen-led-monitor-midnight-grey-mo-084-de.html

The dell has a response time of 1ms Response Time 144hz and the Asus has 4ms Response Time and 165hz.

Is there a lot of difference in 1ms and 4ms Response Time and does 165hz use a lot more power for gaming then 144hz?.

Thanks.

The Dells panel is 8bit so while it still lacks behind IPS on colour reproduction and has worse viewing angles, it looks pretty good and far better than the average TN monitor. 144Hz vs 165Hz is a bit of a gimmick really and is not really worth enabling.

IPS is a little slower than TN. You get a bit more motion clarity on the Dell but it's likely you wouldn't notice additional blur on the IPS monitor, especially if this is your 1st 144Hz since both will look crystal clear.

The prices on Overclockers is pretty different. The Dell is about £254 cheaper and the main difference is that it just uses a TN panel instead of IPS. At them prices, I would grab the Dell without hesitation.

Hi at the moment I have a asus vg27he which is 144hz but only 1080p. I want a native 1440p so dont have to use DSR. The price seems abit too much especially when a review says that they got it for £429. Might send oc a Email if they can do a deal. Like I said already got my self a new PC from these guys too. I just worried about it looking pixelated like on my vg27he monitor. Wish I could rent it first.

At least one reviewer put Visuals look fantastic, blacks look decent too on a TN panel. But I don't no how decent as that the problem with this monitor blacks and whites are a mess.

In what respect? I don't have a console personally but can probably borrow from my brother if there is anything specific.

Resolution. will it just down scale to 1080p?. Thanks.

Sure the dell is selling like hot cakes only 2 left sure there where 10+ last week. or is it because I'm talking about it. hehe

That dell sold out now. I really don't think that many people bought it in that time to be honest.

But decided and getting it when back in stock. Hope they lower it to £429 min hehe hint hint. It is my birthday on jan 10th ocuk.
