Restarting when coming off load.

Hey guys, i'm looking for some advice / insight

I built my PC just over a year ago and it has been plain sailing up until around a month ago, then my PC started restarted at seemingly random times when gaming. Upon closer monitoring it seems to always happen when the power load drops, for example when i reach the end or barren area of a Diablo rift, or when an Overwatch game returns to the lobby.

I sent my PSU in for an RMA and wasn't entirely convinced with the no fault found verdict due the testing methodology which was "tested on high load for 30 minutes, no fault found" due to the fact it is when the load drops from high to low that i experience issues.

I should add that before sending in my power supply i monitored my system as best i could, logged all temps which were all normal at the time of restarts, reverted back to default clocks on cpu / gpu / ram.
also when i check my event viewer there is nothing being logged other than the kernel power error informing me that the system rebooted without properly shutting down.

The only other thing i can think of is it may in fact be an issue with the motherboard, but its the piece of hardware my knowledge is low in so don't want to draw conclusions based on a feeling, especially as it will be a total pain to replace.

Any input would be greatly appreciated as I'm at my wits end with it, thanks in advance.
