Recently rebuilt PC with PhenomII 955, and been having problems when starting up as it can take 3 attemps to log on, as the other times the PC restarts.
First thought it was HDD's playing up so ran diag software on both and passed, also thought it could have been old config being on HDD's so i've reformatted both.
The problem is still there, when it gets to the XP log on screen my raptor cuts out like the power has gone on it, so that's got me thinking it's the PSU.

The PSU i'm running is an OCZ modstream 520W which is 3 years old could that be my problem?

spec is as follows:
Phenom II stock speeds
Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P
Corsair XMS3 DHX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600C9DHX
HIS 4850 (512MB)
1 Raptor X
1 WD 500AAKS
1 DVDRW (some generic pulled from a HP)
1 LG GGW-H20L Blu-Ray Rewriter & HD-DVD ROM

or could it be something else i've over looked?

Thanks
Phil

Is everything running at stock? Also what do you mean the power cuts out, does the entire system reset etc?

However unless there is a problem with your PSU, it'll be fine for that rig.

everything is at stock.
whole thing resets, raptor cuts out as i can hear the platters slow cuts off, then powers up as normal, but it can take upto 3 attempts to get a sucessful logon.

Even though it's all set to stock, are the memory voltage/timings/frequency all set correctly?

Have you tried running only the basic essentials required to boot the PC, ie one stick of ram, CPU, GPU and one HD.

I havn't touched the voltages/frequences on anything so as far as i'm awair they are correct.
have done on one HDD but can't remember what happened so will retry.

Wouldn't always count on it setting the correct values for memory.

According to OCUK's description you need 1.8v @ 9-9-9-24 to acheive 1600MHz, also make sure that they are running are 2T command time.

ram now running at correct values appart from voltage as when i upped it to 1.8v mobo had warning that voltage was to high so that's running at defaul from mobo.
tried with 1 HDD and it still does it.

Doesn't matter about the silly warning on the mobo, that's what that ram was designed to run at :p
