Hey ladies and gents,

Looking for some recommendations for a bunch of guys to grab a bite to eat in or around East London/Islington/Hoxton/Shoreditch/Bethnal Green/Liverpool St tomorrow evening.

Preferably would like to avoid Italian and Indian cuisine. But very much open to alternatives like Moroccan or Lebanese. Also open to American cuisine suggestions, already contemplating Meat Mission and Bodeans (not Red Dog please, went there about a month ago and although loved it, would like to try something new.)

Cheers,

fro

Meat Mission is decent - if you go there definitely try the Monkey Fingers. You can also book a table at this one too.

Edit - Do NOT go to Bodeans if at all possible, particularly the Tower Bridge one. They're rubbish compared to Pitt Cue and Dukes Que :)

one restaurant I'd really recommend in that area is Rosa's. It's a thai restaurant but a really good one. The only problem is it's full of hipsters.

Not quite the area you were looking for but on Green Lanes there's a great turkish restaurant called Cirrik serving bbq and meza. they have a two person mixed grill (I think about £9 each) that is really tasty and is a huge amount of bbq'd meat. (I think if you book a table you get a bottle of wine included but can't remember). The place is great value.

The Snooty Fox pub is round the corner and serves some good real ale. Again, the hipster count is high though.

Whoa there! I've always had impeccable food and service at Bodeans in Fulham. This leaves me with two questions: do they really differ that much between branches and why have I not been to Pitt Cue?

Did you try the Devastator Challenge while at the red dog? I gave it a go and almost died! So much greasy meat.

Devastator wasn't a problem for me at Red Dog, the hot wings were the killer!

Haha thanks guys, yeah a little late though but worth having a thread with some decent places all the same as no doubt I'll be back out in shoreditch soon enough.

Didn't try the devastator no. Thats the burger above with milkshake and fries right? One of my mates had the burger and was gutted he didn't go for the challenge as he thinks he could have done it in just over 5 mins.
