Hi. My dad owns a takeaway and it's really frustrating me seeing the place struggling to handle all the business and stupid mistakes causing problems. Anyways I was wondering if you guys know of any software or solutions to be able to setup a system whereby all the different chefs can see what they need to cook on the roders/outstanding, take orders from the phone and input them from the menu that automatically calculates the bill etc etc you get the jist. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Have a look at OpenBravo POS .. not specifically for restaurants but it can be configured that way I believe. Does a lot of stuff - for free, so worth a look.

I order loads of takeaway stuff using it, i don't know what it's like to use as an operator though.

Do Just Eat just phone the order through for you or is it a bit more involved than that? I use it quite often but I always wonder whether I should just phone it through myself! It is convenient though especially when the takeaway isn't open.

I was under the impression the takeaway had a PC application for orders received as they can reject orders and stuff, you'll have to look into it in more detail.
