Restore SMS on iphone

Just accidentally deleted a few conversations of SMS in iPhone. Is there an easy way to restore what I can from an old backup? How would I go about doing this? Its no big deal if it can't be done.

I've seen people hacking the text files which contain the SMSs, so it is possible.
