Hello this my problem,

My win 7 OS became corrupted and from my back ups this started 6 months ago. I have made a recovered OS on a new SSD from my WHS backups and this works and I have updated windows with all updates to jan 2014 fine BUT my iTunes has a lot more CDs in it now than then. My music library is on another HDD so that is not an issue BUT how do I tell iTunes to update itself to recognise the larger library?

Is there some file or files I need to copy please?

Thanks, Mel

Replace the whole itunes folder including the .itl file and it should see the newer library itl file. Obv backup the old itl first incase it doesn't work. Alternatively keep the music where it is and try holding alt (not sure what Windows similar is) when you launch itunes. This will prompt you to choose another library, where you can the direct it to your newer itl on your HDD without the need for moving files around.
