well firefox seems to of completely forget all my bookmarks/toolbars/history

i know there is backups of the bookmarks but is there anyway to get all my shortcuts i had in the tool bar back ?

what causes firefox to do this in the first place :(

any help woudl be great , had quite a few semi important links in there :o  :(

toilen will be able to help you, he's a god at firefox

in future use mozbackup http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/ to backup your profile

if you search for 'bookmarks' i think the file is bookmarks.html in c:\documents and settings\

it'll find them, then you can import this file into firefox

yeah i can get the bookmarks . i had a load of links in my toolbar too though :( (like where you can drag a web page onto it to make a shortcut too that page )

thats what ive never managed to recover

ill check that backup program out though, thanks

The profile/bookmarks thing just happens sometimes. I think when Firefox crashes that is a cause. The only thing I really worry about is my bookmarks. But tbh I don't need a backup tool for that as I'm always adding to my bookmarks and re-sorting them so I just save the new bookmarks there and then.

Might fiddle with FEBE for my extensions though. Whenever I start again I always forget at least one extension.

The bookmarks toolbar is just a folder within your normal bookmarks. If you've got one, you should have the other too.
Your bookmarks.html should live at %APPDATA%/Mozilla/Firefox/[random text].[profile name]/, and there should be a bookmarkbackups folder in there too.

Without knowing what happened, it's hard to even try to guess why it's broke. Could be broken localstore.rdf, FF randomly decided to start a new profile, anything.
