So I really like the look of the Corsair 350d and would love to pair it with my GTX 780 and a H100i to cool a 4770k that I want to overclock to arounf 4.4GHz (if stable).

BUT

would I be limited with the mATX form factor? Would it mean I couldnt overclock so much as it would get too hot or noisy? here is my planned basket:

mATX is a lot better than it used to be , im sure there are a lot of people who have mATX and don't notice the performance difference between ATX and its smaller form factors also a lot of people overclock with them netting great results.

overclocking has come along way in recent years, so as long as you pick up a decent mATX mobo you should be absolutely fine.

PS. do you need 16gb of ram? if your just going for gaming id drop it down to 8gb and spend that extra cash on a better mATX board or going towards an SSD for your boot drive as it will overall net you the most performance over time

PPS. Corsair fans are OK but if you are using them for the rad id go with GT 1850's http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-030-SY

Hey thanks for the reply.

I do need 16GB as I need it for video rendering. I also already have a 256GB Sandisk extreme SSD.

Is there a better matx board you can recommend for overclocking that wont break the bank? Also preferably all black (allot to ask I know).

are the GT1850s as quiet?

Thanks!

As for the GT1850's You have to turn them down a bit but they are consistently better and once at say 1200-1400rpm all you will hear is air the sweet sound of air!

Im afraid I have no knowledge of mATX boards however going by brand reliability
maybe http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-574-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=2574 - No SLI capability, Asus are pretty good for overlocking from what i hear

or if you plan to SLI in the future or can afford a bit more , http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-566-AS&tool=3 (Read the review and judge for yourself though!)

I have the ATX Z77 version of this board, I love it, but no idea what their mATX are like but I would go for this board (2 x PCIe 3.0 x16 - probably drops to x8 when running sli but thats fine for this price set and and you might be crazy to SLI in an mATX build :D )

best you could do is wait to see if anyone else can help with the boards
