Restricting FPS in CS:S

yes it's a preference thing but how are you suposed to get a headshot when your xhair is a good fraction of the screen, i was just demonstrating the command with a good size for that screen resolution.

oh its very possible in fact just have to be good at aiming...infact you dont even need to be good at aiming a large crosshair would make it a lot easier to aim..and plus large crosshairs are usually for people who are better at control spraying as oppossed to the types that tap burst..

Hi mate,

If I was to turn v sync off, to get rid of screen lag. How would I go about limiting the FPS to 60 without using v sync?

I have been getting a bit of screen lag, but at the min i have to choose between screen lag and tearing :(

What should I do ?

Like I said in an earlier post;

"fps_max 61"

in console for a TFT is your best option. Your monitor can't output any more frames than that anyway.

Oh right, didn't realise that worked on any game :p

Thanks mate

EDIT: didn't work, says unknown command :( ( in WoW )

By Map I think they are referring to the radar in the top left. The shot from Office is the new radar and the shot from Prodigy is the old.

It doesn't work in any game, I didn't say it did :p

Most games do however have an FPS limiter built in. Google is your friend ;)

I think you mean me?

That's with everything on max, including AA and AF... It's only this game tho, wierd stuff.

Anyone have an idea of how to fix it?

Bit sad that your using the auto-sniper isnt.

:p
The best way to stop tearing is V-Sync.
Limiting the FPS in game to the monitor is not the same.

Two equal gears running at the same speed when apart does not mean that if you were to quickly put them together that the teeth would be aligned with each other and would end up grinding the teeth=No V-Sync.

V-Sync makes sure that the gears teeth are always aligned as they are always together to start with.

lol at that. I've only played CS a few times, that's why i'm asking how to fix the FPS in other games here.

I don't, and have never used a cheat in this game.
