restting back to factory

best way to reset to factory.
running el captain but have a snow leopard usb.

best to install this then do a upgrade or can you download captain and install from a usb ?

Download el captain from the store. Then run this command in Terminal. Make sure the disk that you want to copy to is called 'Protected'.

got it done. had to go the route of the usb for 10.6 and then download the update. didnt take too long. thanks

Fab! I would be tempted to make the latest version installer via my method. It's far easier if you need to install in the future as a clean install.
