Resuming FTP

how would i go about using FTP that will allow me to carry on the upload from where i left off, if i got disconnected

i have to send some very large files, which i do over night, and sometimes when i come in in the morning, they have stopped but are not fully sent, and i have to start them from the beginning..

what is the best war around this?

Filezilla can resume uploads.

Can set Global Resume on file exists action in preferences or by a Queue/File only basis.

damn, all those uploads that i have restarted from the beggining...

If you're already using Filezilla, the bottom section shows the pending transfers (Queued files). Simply right-click on the transfer you need and select "Process Queue".

i have had to relog in and dont have any pending ..

when i start it again, and choose resume , it doesnt seem to do anything

The option to resume will be product specific. Just try it and if it is on already then no problems

its not on and not working..

ive emailed the recipient to see if they can find out more...

just to update , that i found a solution to the problem, which is to break the file in to lots of smaller files using RAR...

doesnt help me with resume, but solves my problem of needing to start the whole thing again..
