Retail cpus do i need arctic silver?

Hi,

Just wondering I bought a 930 yesterday (retail boxed with stock cooler) do i need thermal paste?

Retail cpus come with a sachet of thermal paste in the box, so you don't need to worry. Some aftermarket coolers come with their own paste pre-applied to the bottom as well.

The Heat Sink will come with a pad on it

It will have it pre-applied, protected by a clear plastic cover over the bottom of the heatsink.
