I have one of these: http://overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-111-AN and it says it has 3x 12v rails but how do I tell them apart? its a modular power supply so I have 4 ports I can plug one of the 3x sata power cables into, do they all use the same rail? the psu has all the usual cables on it inc a 6/8 pin pci-e plug and it also has a 5th modular connector especially for a 2nd pci-e power cable.

very confused lol, I don't want to go over on the amps on one of the rails

I really wouldn't worry about it. That's a decent PSU and providing it has enough wattage to power your system that's all that matters :)

the thing is im planning on buying a second gtx260, and running flat out they pull 182w max, which is about 15.5a so I need them on separate rails as that psu has 2x 22 amp rails and a 25 amp rail

Usually, 1 rail is for the ATX and EPS connectors, and the other 2 split between the rest. I'll check my Basiq in a sec...

Right, on the sticker next to the modular connectors, it has a pinout diagram. The 12V2 rail is the ATX rail, 12V3 is the GPU/PCI-E rail and 12V1 is the other rail.

You want to connect one connector to the red PCI-E port, and one to the non-modular one. They are on different rails. Then the other two connectors will have to go on the 12V1 rail via Molex adapters.
