Right guys gonna retire my old phenom II 955 its past its best now and the motherboard an old 790FX GD70 is missing SATA 3 and usb 3 which lets face it is now esssential. I want to replace those components but re use the rest of my stuff and want to do it on the cheaper end of the scale so was thinking of the following components
YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Z97P-D3 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £61.99
1 x Intel Pentium K Anniversary G3258 Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £49.99
Total : £121.58 (includes shipping : £8.00).
I know i'd be swapping a quad for a dual but my 955 doesnt overclock well even under a H55 and kicks out so much heat and i'd plan on overclocking the G3258 considerably.
any thoughts on this or should i just leave the old phenom II alone.
