retreaving bookmarks, cookies and emails...............

from a HD that would boot windows

i deleted some files and now it wont boot, tried to repair but it wont, so i need to get the above mentioned files from, firefox and thunderbird, i tried to use moz backup but it cant find the files

there must be a way i can get them?

C:\documents and settings\USERNAME\application data\mozilla (XP)
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\ (Vista)

go in there, the profile names will have a random letter foldername, ie my firefox profile name is..

jz9cmrky.default

copy the contents of each folder like that and paste them into the new ones (will be different letters) on the new machine

works for firefox, probably the same for tbird (wait for more replies)

they're hidden folders, so set explorer to show hidden files

what i do is zip them up, so they're easier to move around

(only access them when firefox / thunderbird are closed)
