Ok heres the cut.
I was trying to install a theme program on vista today and all went wrong and it messed everything up. Then windows wouldnt boot so I ended up having to install a temp copy on another hard drive.
Im trying to copy all my data off the windows install thats ka boomed and onto a back up hard drive. I never exported the bookmarks in firefox. Is there anyway I can rescue them. I tried launching firefox but it just started with a clean bookmark table.
Where are they listed?

They're stored in your profile. The %APPDATA% environment variable will point to the location on your current boot drive, rather than the broken one.
If it's Fx3, they'll be in the places.sqlite file in there, along with your history. Other files are listed here.

IGNORE
(Yeah I found that file. I think the mistake was launching firefox on the new install. It appears to of wiped the old bookmarks.)

UPDATE
I noticed there are other files that you can restore from which is an option within the firefox bookmarks window refering to JSON files.

Thanks for the help :)

Unless you pointed the new install at that location or the new install was on the same drive, that's pretty unlikely.
